Blessing the Piano

Reading from Psalm 150

Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
   praise him in his mighty firmament!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
   praise him according to his surpassing greatness!

Praise him with trumpet sound;
   praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
   praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with clanging cymbals;
   praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Let us pray:

God of all kindness,
we thank you for the many ways
your love comes into our lives.

We thank you for all the gifts you give to your Church,
especially the gift of music and song.
You have filled our mouths with laughter
and our tongues with singing.

Accept our offering of song
in your Church on earth,
and grant us a part in the music
of your Church in heaven.

We ask you to bless + this piano.
Bless + those who will play it
to give joy to your people
and to lead them in praising you more fully.

We ask this in the name of your Son,
our Redeemer and Friend,
Jesus Christ,
Amen.
