First they came for First Nations people, so we march on Invasion Day, advocate for Treaty, and ask governments to Raise the Age.
Then they came for the LGBTIQ+ community, so we marched, and advocated, got homosexuality decriminalised and marriage equality legalised, but realised the fight against neo-Nazis would never end.
Then they came for asylum seekers, so we march on Palm Sunday, support the ASRC, and occupied politicians’ offices.
Then they came for the poor, so we donate to charities, advocate for public housing, and campaign for politicians to Raise the Rate.
Then they came for trans young people, so we join them at rallies and oppose the ‘Let Women Speak’ rubbish.
Now, as so many times before, they are coming for Palestinians, and when we speak up, we’re told that we’re antisemites who only pretend to care about genocide because we hate Jews.
To which we say, “Huh? Have you even met us?”
